Jesus Trail
Day 1: Nazareth to Cana (14 km)
Enjoy our authentic breakfast of fresh pita bread, salads, sauces and eggs.Recommnended that you carry water and a snack lunch with you - your luggage will be transferred to your next placet of accommodation Leave the old city and walk through pastoral landscape to Zippori National Park .Visit the archeological ruins of the main administrative city in the Galilee during the period of Jesus. Admire the exquisite Byzantine mosaics, take in the breathtaking view from atop the Crusader fortress, and walk through the ancient water Channel system. Stop for lunch before returning to the trail, through the village of Meshhed to arrive at Cana, known as the traditional site of Jesus’ first miracle. Stop for a rest and have a snack at a Cana Wedding ,Before visiting the Orthodox and Catholic churches commemorating the water to wine miracle. Eat dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 2: Cana to Kibbutz Lavi (14.4 km)
Start with your breakfast before ascending out of Cana to walk along a forest ridge with unique valley landscape views. Stop for your packed lunch in a shaded forest. Step onto an ancient Roman road, also used by Roman centurians, continue up the hill with roadside ruins, to arrive at Kibbutz Lavi. Explore the kibbutz with a local resident as your guide. Listen to a lecture about Jewish-Christian relations. Enjoy a typical kosher Jewish dinner and rest in this peaceful location.
Day 3: Kibbutz Lavi to Moshav Arbel (16.1 km)
Eat breakfast, then head out across the plantations in the direction of to the Horns of Hittin– remains of a volcanic structure where a famous Crusader battle took place. Experience your first breathtaking view of the Sea of Galilee and the beyond onto the Arbel Valley. Continue down the rocky hillside to Nebi Shu’eib, the holiest shrine for the Druze religion. Along the way Visit the tomb of Jethro, Moses' father-in-law, and eat your packed lunch at the picnic area. After lunch, continue on the trail through Arbel Valley past ancient olive groves and the ruins of Hattin village. Ascend out of the valley to Moshav Arbel(agricultural community settlement), where you will enljoy your overnight stay in rustic wooden cabins.
Day 4: Moshav Arbel to Capernaum (17 km)
Get an early start so as to take in the stunning sunrise from Arbel Cliff. Descend on the challenging (but not too steep!) trail down the mount. passing ancient cliff dwellings and caves. Drink sparkling clear water from the spring at Wadi Hamam then continue to Tabgha via rolling agricultural land. View mosaics at Tabgha, the traditional site of the feeding of the 5,000. Continue the trail around the northern side of Sea of Galilee to visit the church of St. Peter. Ascend a small ridge to visit the Mount of Beatitudes, the traditional site of Jesus’ Sermon End the journeypernaum by wandering the ruins of the city which was the center of Jesus’ ministry, and say your silent prayer in the church built over the home of Simon Peter. Catch a bus back to Tiberias from Kfar Nahum junction (+3km) .At any of the local resutarants you can enjoy St Petrs fish.
