Caesarea, Nazareth, Galilee & Golan Tour

Day 1:

Exit north along the coast to Caesarea, the ancient Roman Capital and port. Walking tour of the Roman theatre and magnificent ruins and exavations. Continue to Haifa to view of the Bahai gardens, the city, the port and the bay from Mount Carmel. Drive to Rosh Hanikra to visit the spectacular limestone grottos and view border with Lebanon. Return via Acre to visit underground Crusader city and crypt. Walk through the picturesque Old City market.. Overnight at kibbutz hotel.

Day 2:

Continue north via the plain of Armageddon to Nazareth. In Nazareth visit the Church of Annunciation and the Church of St. Joseph's carpentry. Onwards via Kafer Cana to view the Mount of Beatitudes and Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fish at Tabgha. Stop to view the ruins of the ancient synagogue of Capernaum and the city of Christ. Drive via Tiberias to the site of baptismal on the Jordan River.Return via scenic view of Mt. Tabor, the site of transfiguration
 

Day 3:

Drive east, on route stop for overlook on Megiddo and continue to Beth Shean, the extensive excavations of an ancient Roman city.  Ascend to the Golan Heights with an overview from Hammat Gader of Triangular Border with Syria, Jordan & Israel, on route to the Shalom Observatory. Onwards to the city of Katzrin the Talmudic capital of the Golan. Ascend to Mt Bental, overlook Kuneitra Valley. Short stop for overview of former Syrian fortification. Descend to the Hula Valley for overnight stay at kibbutz guesthouse.

Day 4:

 After a tour of the kibbutz we continue northwards to one of the tributaries of the Jordan river at Caesarea Philippi (Banias). After visiting the Crusader fortress Ka'alat Nimrod and the extinct volcano at Birkat Ram we end the day at the Safed, city of the Kabala, where we see the synagogues, the visitors' centre and the artists' quarter. Return to hotels.
